team up thursday - week 16

Again its thursday and I have no clue where the time has gone - sooo busy with the puppies and we've started some work on our other half of the house which be bought a month ago. So I will have some workers here the next weeks who will keep my busy too with looking what they are doing and bringing some food and drinks and and and...

Our theme this week is chosen by Marcelle and its FENCES

I love this theme as it is a simple one and on the other side its a difficult one - I cannot go outside and take a photo of the neighbours fences - they will think I am working for "Google street view" or something like that...
And I thought it should be a special fence I want to show and this is what I've found yesterday while walking with the dogs. I think I've passed that fence 100 times but never recognized it or have seein it with the eyes like I did yesterday....

Marcelles photos  is a brilliant shot again - I love this blue sky with the clouds so soft - I love this fence - I love the silence you can see on/in that photo - I love the nature - I LOVE THAT SHOT. WELL DONE MY TUT PARTNER.

Our diptych:

I cannot wait to see all your brilliant photos again this week - curious about your themes and you ideas. I love that team up thursday and I want to say a huge thank you to all of you who always inspire me and make me not give up hoping to do "the perfect shot" one day. Thank you girls - you're all fantastic. What a pity we cannot meet up in person - maybe one day????!!!!
Cheers

team up thursday - week 14

Here we go again - its "TUT"-time - team up thursday and this week we have strangers....
Fist thought of myself was - whats difficult and tough to take a photo of strangers as everyone you don't know is a stranger - but - hehe - that wasn't that easy. I went to the city center last friday to stroll  and thought I should take a photo of people passing by - but not as easy as thought. Did a few but was not happy with them and then I saw that old man sitting there- a basket in front of himself with a note: Thanks for your support - and I thought: Shall i support him with money or shall I bring him a roll or something to eat? And you know what? I did nothing as I saw that he opened a plastic bag and there were bottles and bottles of alcohol in it - beer, schnaps, wine....

So here we go:

This are "Marcelles strangers":

Its a perfect captured - and I really mean captured - photo. Look at the old lady - and her husband (think he is- lol). Sometimes I love to think about what people think or talk in those moments - are they talking about their day - their children - about the weather or whatever...
I also love all the natural things Marcelle has in her photo - the stones - the wood - the old wall of (I think) a castle or something like this... WELL DONE MARCELLE !!!!

Team up thursday - week 13

This weeks' theme is chosen by me and it is: STONES....

This is what came to Marcelles mind: Isn't it AMAZING???????

I love the naturalness and the colours of Marcelles photo - big ones and small ones - thick ones and flat ones - its no natural! See how different the colours are - even they are not in such different colours - a very "warm coloured photo".
I think stones like in that photo can be soooo beautiful - how often do I walk by those stones without recognizing them. Beautiful shot Marcelle - WELL DONE!!!!

Mine is a little boring as  I was sooo busy lately and I had to do lots of work - that means (and I hate it to say again) I didn't had the time  I wanted to spend  in this weeks theme so here we go:

Achim and I bought this stones in South America last year when we were on holidays - they are pretended to be gemstones - okay I have no clue if they are or not. I simply love the colours and the pattern.

"Here we are together":

Couldn't decide which photo I should choose

team up thursday - chairs

This weeks' theme is chosen by Marcelle and it's CHAIRS

Marcelles photo is great and it reminds me of the "good old times" when we spent our holidays with camping.... That were times and I can't remember how often I fell off from these charis as they were not very steady and robust.

And look thos colors and the pattern - weren't they exactly those from the good old "late 70th"??? Great memories.

My photo is from a very old chair - where my granddad used to sit on. He had it in front of his desk and sat there for hours and hours while doing the accouning (when he had his bakery) and later for his diary entries (when he was retired). I think this chair could tell stories about my granddad's thoughts (which he sometimes spoke out).
I can remember exactly (I must have been about 10 years old) that I told my granddad if he doesn't need his chair and deks anymore I would love to have it in my room (I didn't think in that way that he somedays will die - it was just a thought of a child)...
Later when I  moved to Munich and my grandparents visited me my granddad asked me if I still am interested in the chair and the desk - my chin fell off - never thought that he would remember my saying years ago.
I nodded and told him that I would love to have it in my flat but I would love it much more if he would use it for the next 30 yeas. He grinned and replied: " I try to"..... In the end he used that chair and desk more than 15 years after he asked me and when he had to go to the nursery home he always told my granddad, my aunt and my dad that chair and desk will move to Munich.... And so it happened years ago.....

Sometimes I "see" my granddad sitting in this chair with his cute smile - telling me: Its not just the chair and the desk who is with you - its me also....." And I believe in that. WILL ALWAYS LUV YA GRANDDAD AND WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!!!!

So this week its interesting what our photos could tell - great thoughts - great memories and a little sadness  those times are "over"....

Sometimes it's "scary" how Marcelle and I think alike - you might think: Why alike? Those chairs? They are totally different - and you may be right - but they both are "old" - so again we though in similar ways....

Team up thursday

Here we go again - team up thursday - another thursday with another theme which is chosen by me:

HEARTS

I exactly knew which photo I wanted to show this week but inspired by Marcelle (again) I thought I should not take a look in my folders and search for a photo - I think all team up thursday photos should be acually ones.
So  the day before yesterday when I went for a little walk in our close forest with my neighbour I found my HEART:

I am sure you might think that I missed the theme  - but take a second look. I nearly passed that tree and then immediately turned and thought - yes - thats MY HEART for this weeks theme. I have to say  originally (the tree) you see it a little better. But isn't it funny how nature shows itself sometimes?

This is our diptych:

And here we have "Marcelle's heart":

Again I have to say I am totally in love her photo - my first thought is she should print it on canvas (as her photo last week) or at least she should offer it to sell...... what a perfect moment  - full of love and heart:
Head off Marcelle - you are doing such a great job - I am blown away. Just the idea to take a photo of the brides backside and with this heart-balloon - photo all in b/w and only the red heart is devastatingly!!!! WELL DONE AGAIN MARCELLE

Team up thursday - week 10

I sooooo love this "project" - every week it makes me smile when I see the photo Marcelle took.  So often we are so close with our thoughts and this week again we did almost the same:

I took my photo on Monday when Achim and I did a trip to the "Tegernsee" and I asked Marcelle to send her photo a little earlier as Achim was at home yesterday so I had "no chance" to work on my computer. And as soon as possible I got Marcelles "reply" - again almost the same thought of photo. Marcelle once again convinced me to take the photo I'd already chosen - because it was my first thought and just due to the fact we both had the same idea I shouldn't take another one. It shows how similar we think :)

This weeks theme is chosen by Marcelle and it's called "Black and White" - so see what the South African and German Girl did:

This is Marcelles photo: I love the clearness and the sharpness of the halms in front and the blurring in the background - so rich in contrast and if I were Marcelle I would print this photo on canvas. I am totally in love with that photo. Well done Marcelle - BRILLIANT! This is the kind of photos I adore.

Now our diptych: (click to enlarge)

And this is my photo:

Now off to eliminate the mess the thunderstorm left last night - omg I was sooo proud of my garden yesterday afternoon - everything looked so nice and in the late evening we had a terrible thunderstorm with biiiiiig hailstones.... Funny thing was I visited a girl friend in the west of Munich and we sat outside the whole evening and when I called Achim on my way home he told me about that thunderstorm - 20 km difference and such a different weather - unbelievable......

team up thursday - Week 9

Here we go again - this weeks theme is chosen by me and it is: On the beach

I think its a little related to the weather right now here in Germany - we have a wonderful time at the moment - nice temperatures and its not as hot as it was last week. So I thought "on the beach" would be a nice theme.
My photo was taken in Australia when we were close to Perth - a very nice beach called Cottleshaw - very nice houses around and a nice area. We've been to Australia in November 2006  - but never went to the water as it is sooo dangerous regarding sharks. And although nearly everyone knows that there are people who cannot listen and go to swim or to surf. And on one of our last days there we've heard about a young Surfer who was attacked by a shark - I cannot remember exactly but I think he lost a leg. For me its unbelievable that some people have no respect of those animals.

I love Marcelles photo as the South African Flag is next to the German Flag - so South African-German-Friendship- like .... aaaand there are soooo beautiful colors in her photo - really makes me feel happy and exciting - the clear blue sky - the colours of the flags  - afir me a "happy " and brilliant photo.

Am a little lazy with my blog entries but I have a lot to do these days although Achim isn't at home but maybe that keeps me busy with appointments and and and....

team up thursday - week 8

Awww how time flies by - unbelievable we are doing team up thursday for the 8th time...

This weeks' theme is chosen by Marcelle and we have: seeing double:

Today I think no words have to be add how alike Marcelle and I think sometimes. When I saw Marcelles photo I first thought I have to choose another photo because the idea of the sunbeds was exacly what I had in my mind when I first heard about the theme. So I scanned a lot of my photos and found an image which I "created" a few ywars ago but after talking to Marcelle she did persuade me to hold on with my first idea although my photo is very similar to hers.

I love Marcelles photo as it is perfect to me - the two identical sunbeds with the same pattern and green in it - the green grass and the green frame - BRILLIANT!

My photo is taken on our Turkey holiday in April this year and when you take a close look you see the sunbeds are not identical as on the right hand-side the sunbed has a mattres or ped on it.

Let me show the photo who didn't make the cut:
This is my little niece and somewhere along the way I played around with photoshop and this is what came out:

team up thursday - week 7

This weeks theme is chosen by me and it is: books

My oh my I cannot remember how many books I have read in my life but it sure were a lot. I love to read - the most important thing when I pack my suitcases for holidays are books (at least 2). I love to finish the evening with lying in bed and read a good book - when I was a child I didn't watch tv often I was happy to go to bed and read my "girlie books".

And when I chose the theme I had no idea what kind of photo to take - first thought were to take a photo of some books about photography - then I thought about a photo with all my books in my board and then I rememberd I once took a photo of a board with lots of books. That were back in 2007 when we were in Sydney and sat in the hotel bar- I loved the light  - nice music of a piano player and a glass of red wine in front of me and I turned and saw that board with all the books in it.

I love Marcelles idea to take a photo of her photobooks which she creates. I love this style very much - they're looking really classy and gorgeous. As you can see she again shows her creativity how she created the books. And I also love the angle of view she took. Just the thought of what story "writes" every book  with phtotos is very interesting - so for me a perfect photo for the theme BOOKS and a BRILLIANT IDEA:
Again - well done Marcelle. Always a pleasure to do this weekly challange with you and I am so happy to have another one who is really "addicted" in photography and "taking a great photo" - AAAND always a pleasure to talk to you on the phone - that pushes my bravery to "speak" and not just to write or read the English language :)

Have a look at our other TUT photographers and leave a message :) :

team up thursday - week 6

Unbelievable - we are at week 6 with our team up thursday photos....

This weeks theme is chosen by Marcelle and it is:
10 mins from home....

Honestly first time I heard about that I was a little overcharged - as the weeks before we had very simpe themes like yellow, cubes, sports ...... and for me this was a little "out of the box" as Marcelle sometimes say. So when we talked on the phone Marcelle told me that we have to walk exactly 10 minutes from our door and then we have to take a photo. My first thought my photo would be all green as I am living on the outskirts of Munich and there is a lot of  trees and green around. My oh my  - I never thought that the day I will take the photo it is aaaalllll grey in grey instead of green. I took my photo yesterday and since I opened my eyes  in the morning was raining cats and dogs. I hoped for a ray of sunshine or at least 10 minutes without rain but noooo chance. So I walked around with my umbrella and my cam around my neck and walked my usual route which I "normally" run  - I say normally because I didn't do that run for more than 10 days. And normally after 5 minutes I turn to the left and run this way as it is nicer and in the forest and today I walked straight on and came to that "grit factory" - I knew that it is there but never thought about taking a photo of that. But today I thought - why not - and so I did. But when I came home and checked the photo I found it all grey in grey - sky grey - factory grey  - street grey and I HATE grey these days so I decided to "play a little with the color". So now it looks a little little "warmer" but still ... hmmmmm.... not my best shot but these are also not my best days as it is beginning to bother me a lot - this ugly weather here in Munich.

I love Marcelles photo as  it has lots of colors in it and I love that thing in front of the hose - although I don't know what it is - is it a light bulb? Anyway I like it because of the colors and the style - very modern and stylish.

With this weeks photo Marcelle again shows that she is walking around very considerate and open minded regarding our theme. I cannot tell enough how I love this "project" -  let me see the world and everything around with different eyes - it opens my mind and my thoughts, my imagination and my fantasy. And again I want to say thank you to Marcelle for being my partner here and for all the ideas and thought-provoking- impulses and not least the great and interesting chats we had and hopefully have in the future.

team up thursday - week 4

...for Marcelle and me. I have to say I am addicted to that - every thursday morning (sometimes wednesday evening) I take a look around at my photographer friends' blogs and every time I am blown away about their themes and their photos. I think there is soo much for me to lean and (as Marcelle once said) to think "out of the box".

This weeks theme is chosen by Marcelle and its: looking up or looking above - and again its funny to see how we both "saw" the theme and interpreted that.

My first thought was looking into the sky and finding some nice clouds (here in Munich we don't have had nice clouds for more than 4 weeks now - always mixed up in grey - sometimes dark grey...) - and after being unable to take a nice shot of the sky I checked my foldes and found this:

This photo was taken two years ago - I can remember exactly as my "BA"d  friend Helen has been in Munich for two days (explaining "BA"d friend = friends of the Bryan Adams Fan family) and we were walking around the "Walk of  fame at the Olympic Park in Munich" - Bryan "left" his hands there in red sand....
I wasn't sure about my chosen photo - I have another in my mind but once you choose one I think thats the right one. Maybe we have a similar theme next time and I can show the other one then.
Again - can you see Marcelles talent for those photos - I am blown away of her "finding exactly the right second"  - amazing. How she came to this photo you can read on her blog - I think most who read my blog are allowed to read hers (she set her blog on "private"). And isn't it fantastic to have such really beautiful models around? Awwww - brilliant

Take a look what Berta ; Corey; Megan and Melody did this week - more to check out are:

team up thursday the third - LETTERS

So here we play the third round - its always funny how exciting I am when I recieveMarcelles photo as she always has so great ideas - she implements every theme in a fantastic way and today its again the - "wow effect" . Perfectly captured! And again - her photo is not "arranged" - its just a situation which is perfect for the chosen theme.

 My thoughts to this theme:

And again it was funny as with the chosen theme "Letters" we both had different ideas. I have to say when I chose the theme I immediately had the idea to "play scrabble" and will use this letters. I had no idea which word to "write" and tried different things like doing a crossword puzzle but the letters didn't came up like I wanted - it was more word related than letter related.

And honestly theres not the most to tell about my photo - the word letter written with letters - not that recourceful and tried to write different things and used more letters which was totally confusing - you had to concentrate on the words and not the real theme - then did the photo  ... and in the end I thought sometimes  "less" is "more".

Take a look what Berta ; Corey; Megan and Melody did this week.

team up thursday - second week

Second week Marcelle and I are working on our new challenge "team up thursday". When I said last week I was a little nervous about my first pic I have to say this week I was a little nervous again. I think I have to learn not to give myself that pressure regarding "doing the perfect shot" - "having a special idea". I know the thought behind is just having fun and showing your pics and how and what do you see by the chosen theme.

This week our theme is yellow - chosen by my team up partner and friend Marchelle:
Yellow is the color of the sun and yellow gives us light, serenity and enjoyment.
First photo is mine - the photo underneath is Marcelle's

Wow - I thought "yellow" and immediately looked around what I can find in yellow - some post.its, some color pens... then I thought I should look outside to the nature or whatever yellow I can find outside. And my fist idea was the german letter boxes. Did some photos but honestly I didn't like them because the yellow was dirty or bleached out - not that yellow I wanted. Then by drving to the golf course last week I saw all these huge fields of rapeseeds - everything is yellow here. It looks sooo nice and I though: yes - thats it....

When I talked to Marcelle on Monday she told me that she will send her pic to me now as she was expected to stay in hospital from wednesday on and I can can put her pic on my blog - we talked on the phone and then her pic arrived - I opened it and  - wow - we both had the same idea.... LOL.

I love the comprehensiveness Marcelles photo mediates - so not just one single blossom - a huge field of blossoms. I feel the requireness to run into this field and outstretch my arms to capture the whole scenery. Very well done Marcelle.

So I had to go out and do another "yellow shot" but I had something in my head - dandelion. I took my pic and sent it to Marcelle so that she can "prepare" it for her blog and when she opened my pic she told me that this was also on her mind - great minds think alike.

I really love being part of the team up thursday and even its my/our second week I find myself watching a lot of things with different eyes - I think the idea behind also opens your mind and creativity.

Take a look what theme and photos "our colleagues" have chosen - for example Berta; Corey; Megan or Melody

team up thursday - the first one...

Now that is a challange - joining the group of those fantastic photographers.... I am happy to found some more woman who are addicted to photography.
Now Marcelle and I "teamed up" and joined the fun. The rules are the following:
you have to chose a partner and then you discuss about weekly themes - every "couple" does it for its own - that means there is not MAIN THEME - every team has to chose its own theme for the week. Then when you've chosen a theme each of you sends a pic to your partner and you can do it like I did (two photos in one pic or you show it in any other way) and you post it to on your blog.
Now tell everyone why you have chosen that theme and tell something about your partners photo. It sounds very excited for me and I am happy to show you Marcelles and my first "project"

Now Marcelle and I have chosen the theme........ratatataaaaaaaa - SPORTS -and that is what came out:

I really love Marcelle's idea of the pic - you see you never know what you can do with photos you've taken and somethimes think: OMG - for whatever reason I have taken that one..... Not that I think Marcelle had that thought but when I sometimes go through my pics I think - why the heck did I take this one.... and exactly three days after I delete it I find an idea for what I could have used it.....
I think when you are addicted to photography you see the world with special eyes - I don't know if anyone would have taken a pic from balls in a net - THAT is something special. Not only the "beautiful and special" things need to be photographed- sometimes the "normal" and unimposting situations or combinations are the interesting ones. The more I concern myself with photograhy the more I see some things in different ways (its hard to explain - even more when its not your first language) but I think those who feel like me will understand me.

I don't know exactly why I have chosen the skiing boots and the cap - the last three days I was really angry about my lawyer - I need an italian lawyer as last year a snowboarder bumped into me and for me it ended up with two broken ribs and whiplash injury and concussion - thank god I wore a helmet otherwise I don't know if I would be able to write my blog here....he is very lazy and the day before yesterday I had to kick his a....and maybe I thought about skiing.... so its not a "situation" I photographed - its a "composion"... would love to know what you're thinking about our "project"

So I am really looking forward for next weeks team up thursday - I KNOW THE THEME  and have an idea but won't talk about until its next thursday...
